TS Technology Services gains ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards Certification

TS Technology Services, the Solihull-based supplier of high-tech service and support facilities for the telecoms and communications industries, announces that it has been awarded Certification to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard (EMS).
John Reeve, Mayor of Solihull Metropolitan Borough, attended the special award ceremony today at TS Technology Services’ UK Headquarters in Solar Park, Shirley.
The ISO14001 standard has been designed to help businesses introduce and improve controls for all areas relating to the environment including waste management, energy usage reduction, re-cycling purchasing materials, disposal and general housekeeping etc. ISO-14001 certification is accredited third-party verification that TS Technology Services meets the requirements of international standards. It is granted to companies that demonstrate commitment to environmental stewardship. The EMS certification is strongly supported by the government and is fast becoming a necessity for suppliers if they want to work with major customers.
Commenting on achieving the accreditation, Kevin Scott-Cowell MD of TS Technology Services said: “As a major supplier to the telecoms industry in the UK and Europe, it is important for our customers to know that we have robust environmental management systems in place which allow us to meet all legal requirements, improve working conditions for our employees and ultimately improve our services and processes for the benefit of our customers.
“Attaining this important environmental standard underlines our continued commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality products and services using processes which minimise the impact on the environment,” added Kevin Scott-Cowell. “We believe that this is an important milestone which will help us to achieve our business goals of significantly growing our customer base.”
To gain accreditation, TS Technology Services were audited by independent assessors earlier this year.
“This independent verification also means that our customers can be assured that the environmental management systems operating within TS meet the most stringent requirements eliminating the need for our customers to undertake further costly second party audits,” said Kevin Scott-Cowell. “Experience shows that those organisations who fully embrace ISO 14001 certification do see clear net gains not just in environmental performance, but also in reducing costs and competing more effectively.
“I’d like to pay tribute to all our employees who worked extra hard to put in all the planning and procedures required to achieve this high level of compliance with environmental standards,” he added.
