TYCO Fire v TS Technology 5 A-side ‘CHALLENGE
Following on from the ‘Tyco Win the Argus Fire Protection Cup’ article on the company intranet, on the 29th November 2006, some of the employees at TS Technology Services decided to challenge our talented TF&IS team for a game!! Dave Hill, Project Engineer from our TF&IS Birmingham Office and Ros McGill, Marketing Executive at TS Technology Services, decided to join forces to arrange a footy match to remember!
Ros and Dave said “All participants commented on what a great night was had by everyone involved. The friendships formed within a ‘competitive’ environment were terrific, and although the TF&IS lads ran out convincing 20 – 3 victors, this was an evening where really the result was irrelevant. Dave added
“All the team from TF&IS would like to thank Ros for putting in a lot of her own time and effort into making all the arrangements along with myself, ensuring that everyone enjoyed the overall experience of bringing the companies together for a worthwhile occasion”.
As far as the game itself was concerned, there should be a special mention for Eamonn Jones the TS Technology Services Goalkeeper, who performed heroically in trying to keep the score down and earned a Man of The Match shout from everyone in the TF&IS camp. This was especially commendable because Eamonn had gone down with an apparent serious injury, to the point where Ros was ready for the full ‘Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation’ until Eamonn screamed out it was actually his knee that had clicked out of its socket!! To add insult to injury, Dave would like to say, “In fairness to Ros, Eamonn lay motionless on the floor for what seemed like several minutes. Rumor soon spread that Eamonn was courting sympathy because they were loosing…but hey who knows!!!?”
Both teams after the final whistle:

Another player due a special mention is our very own Dale Kinnersley, who was Dave’s clear nominee for the TF&IS Man of the Match award. Dale had a nasty injury after only one game in the Argus Cup, so he was keen to show his fellow team mates that he had managed to stay relatively fit. Dale capped his night with 7 goals and was the leading scorer on the night!
After the match all players and supporters met up in the bar for well deserved social drinks and buffet, which was a brilliant end to a brilliant night.
TS Technology Services and TF&IS are planning an 11-a-side when the weather is a bit warmer, with the hope of encouraging more colleagues and families to come along and watch. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this.
Eamonn Jones voted man of the match:
